Case Harbor Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2, 2026
Case Harbor is an independent immigration case organizer developed by Deepak Kotur under the Kotur Studio name. It is not affiliated with a government agency. This policy describes Case Harbor version 1.0 for iPhone and iPad.
Information on your device
Case Harbor stores the case nicknames and numbers you enter, PERM filing dates, personally recorded I-140 petition progress and optional approval dates, personal notes, retrieved case statuses and check timestamps, your priority-date profile (country of chargeability, category and date), manually entered or document-imported I-94 numbers, admission classes, entry/admit-until dates, issuing-agency labels, saved/import timestamps, arrival/departure entries and locations, reminder preferences and document nicknames/dates, and downloaded government processing information in the app's local storage. The developer does not operate a server that receives these records. The app uses iOS file protection for saved records. Your Apple device or computer backups may include app data, depending on your backup settings.
Optional encrypted backups
About > Backup & restore lets you create a password-encrypted file containing saved cases and histories, priority-date profiles and bulletin snapshots, I-94/travel records, and reminder preferences and document dates. The file is saved only to a location you select. A selected cloud file provider may sync it according to its own settings. Website cookies, website sign-in sessions and notification permissions are not included. The developer does not receive the file or password and cannot recover a forgotten password. Restoring replaces local records after your confirmation. Deleting records or the app does not delete exported backup files; manage those files at their saved locations.
Connections to websites
Adding or refreshing a numbered USCIS or supported PERM case sends its number directly to the relevant official website over HTTPS. The website returns case information that the app saves on your device. NVC and older PERM lookups are interactive; information you enter on those pages is sent to those websites. Your locally entered nickname, notes, PERM filing month and priority-date profile are not included in automatic lookup requests.
I-94 and travel-history retrieval uses CBP’s interactive website inside the app. Names, date of birth, passport/travel-document number and country information you enter there go directly to CBP and its website services. Case Harbor does not maintain a separate passport or birth-date profile, automatically extract CBP results, or poll CBP. I-94 and travel details you enter manually or approve in a document-import preview become local records. User-selected PDFs and UTF-8 text files are parsed on the device without uploading them to the developer or an extraction service. The app saves the extracted admission/travel fields and import time; it does not retain the original file, filename, passport number, name or date of birth in its app records. Your original document remains wherever you saved it in Files, subject to that storage provider’s settings. These are personal copies, not independently verified government records.
The app also connects to official sources to retrieve Visa Bulletin charts, USCIS chart selection and DOL processing information. Explore, support and privacy pages load inside the app. Websites receive normal connection information, such as your IP address and browser information, and may store cookies or session data, use security services or collect usage information under their own policies. Followed links may take you to other websites within the app. Case Harbor does not control these websites or their retention practices.
Relevant agency policies are available on USCIS, DOL, CBP and the Department of State. Review a website's own policy before entering additional information there.
Advertising and analytics
Case Harbor contains no ads, advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs or developer analytics SDK. The app does not sell your case records or use them for targeted advertising. Apple may provide the developer with App Store or crash information according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. Embedded websites have their own practices as described above.
Your controls and retention
Saved records remain on your device until you remove them or delete the app. Delete individual cases from My cases, or use About > Delete all saved cases to remove case records, notes and case histories. Remove a saved I-94 or individual travel entries from My cases > I-94 & travel history. The 10-year travel filter hides older entries without deleting them. Remove your priority-date profile from Priority dates separately. About > Clear website cookies and cache removes the app's stored website data, including website sign-in sessions; it does not delete saved case records. Deleting the app removes its local app data, but does not remove older device backups or records retained by government websites. Manage backups in your Apple settings. Copying a receipt number places it on your device clipboard, which is governed by your device's clipboard and continuity settings.
Support
If you contact support, the developer receives what you choose to send and uses it to answer your request and troubleshoot the app. Do not send receipt numbers, immigration documents, passwords or other sensitive case information. Support correspondence may be retained while needed to handle the request and related follow-up. You may request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Support and privacy email is handled through Zoho Mail. Zoho processes correspondence as our email provider under its privacy policy. The public support and privacy website is hosted by Cloudflare; see our website privacy notice.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy and effective date. Government websites and Apple publish their own policies separately.
